Château Tanunda, birthplace of the Barossa, is one of Australia’s most historically significant wineries. Established in 1890, the Château is privately owned by the Geber family, who have put their heart, soul and passion into hand-crafting some of the Barossa’s most collectable wines, with a focus on unique Old Vine Expressions of 150, 100 and 50 Year Old vines and our famous Grand Barossa Shiraz. Château Tanunda winemaking epitomises the finest that modern hand-crafted winemaking has to offer. Headed up by Chief Winemaker Neville Rowe, it is boutique winemaking to scale, using small open fermenters, gentle basket pressing and aging in the finest oak to ensure the unique qualities of the vines are embodied in the wines. As a result, the wines have excellent cellaring potential and consistently attract worldwide recognition for their extraordinary quality.
