The name Thorn-Clarke derives literally from the relationship between two long-time Barossa families – the Thorns, who nurtured some of the regions oldest vines, and the Clarkes, who discovered treasure buried in the bounteous Barossa soil. These two families came together in a union that created our family, our winery and, some might say, our destiny: to produce wines worthy of gold. Thorn-Clarke Wines continues today as a family-owned, estate grown producer. The family are now proud custodians of approximately 170 hectares of vineyard, including holdings in some of the most Southerly and Northerly sites in the region. With 6 generations of grape growing heritage, our philosophy is strongly rooted in sustainable viticulture. We believe that exceptional wines are created in the vineyard and that sentiment flows through into everything that we do. We pride ourselves on creating authentic, expressive wines that truly showcase what the Barossa has to offer.
