Bodega del Abad is not only the name of a winery, it is a way of claiming the history, the present and the future of El Bierzo region linked to vine growing. More than two decades ago, the winery began its journey planting the vines of mencia and godello, varieties used to make our wines. The winery is located in the heart of land known as olla berciana , in the village of Carracedelo, a wine-growing area located in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula. Our monovarietal wines are made with the red mencia and white godello, indiginus varietys of this region traditionally linked to viticulture, all of them under Bierzo appellation. Wines that are born with essence and character, wines that reect the land they come from, a natural paradise with a unique terroir composed by slate, clay and pebbles that allows mineratlity and personality to show into the mencia and godello grapes.
