Almaviva is a result of a partnership between two international wine dynasties, Baron Philippe de Rothschild and Viña Concha y Toro. The objective was to make an outstanding wine that combines Bordeaux winemaking tradition with Chilean terroir. Winemaker Michel Friou, who has previously worked at Château Margaux, takes advantage of the elevated terroir of Puente Alto (listed as one of the top 5 places in the world to grow premium Cabernet Sauvignon) to produce approachable wines, that are also rich, complex, and capable of ageing for decades. Made from a blend of classic Bordeaux varieties; this wine is the result of the best of two worlds: Chile offering its soil, climate and vineyards and France contributing its winemaking savoir-faire and traditions. The result is an exceptionally elegant and complex wine, offering the world a promise of excellence and pleasure.
